The S.S.Badger On It's 60th year of transport service across Lake Michigan.

The S.S. Badger --- the only remaining steam-powered passenger ship operating in North America --- is celebrating it's 60th year of transport service across Lake Michigan. In addition to being the largest car ferry to ever sail the Great Lakes (410 feet in length capable of carrying 600 passengers and 180 vehicles), the S.S. Badger boasts many other maritime "firsts" including placement on the U.S. Department of Interior's National Register of Historic Places and the American Society of Engineers' Mechanical Engineering Landmark designation for its unique propulsion system.

Passengers on the S.S. Badger can also be assured that the ship's electrical systems are reliably protected in part by Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures used to house connections and safeguard them from corrosion damage and diverse environmental factors associated with transport across large bodies of water. Stahlin provides the world's most frequently specified line of fiberglass and other non-metallic enclosures.
