The "Original Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament" began in 1974 in Lowell, Michigan. Scott McNeal (alias Gus Macker) and his brother, Mitch, gathered eighteen friends who played competitively for a tournament purse. The tournament grew and was relocated to Belding, Michigan in 1987, and was eventually taken on the road, branded as the "Gus Macker All-World Tour."
Each event on the tour is a partnership between the Gus Macker Basketball tournament system and local community charities. Designed so that anyone can play, the event invites community members to enter as a competitor and the local organizing committee donates proceeds of the event to a local charity or charities. This year, Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures was proud to sponsor the Slam Dunk Contest portion of the Gus Macker tournament recently held in Belding, Michigan.
